There are some ways to insert s tick symbol into MS word. The methods we listed below are relevant for Microsoft Word 2004, Microsoft Word 2008, Microsoft Word 2007, Microsoft Word 2010, Microsoft Word 2011, Microsoft Word 2013, Microsoft Word 2016 and Microsoft Word 365.

Method 1 – Tick Symbol Character Code

This is the quick way to insert tick mark in word. For this, you will need the numerical keypad instead of keyboard. There is a couple of code that will enable you to insert tick symbol in MS Word.

1. Change font to “Wingdings

2. Using the numerical keypad (make sure you are not using the horizontal line of numbers), hold down Alt and enter any one of the following combination of numbers:

  • ALT + 0252
  • ALT + 0254

Make sure you have changed the font to Wingdings before the character code is entered. Thereafter, you can switch the text style back to the ideal appearance

Method 2 – Copy and Paste

This is very simple way to insert tick symbol in MS Word. To copy and paste a tick, highlight one of the ticks below, then copy and paste it anywhere else you want.

Method 3 – Font Shortcuts

Another quick and most common method is to use either the “Webdings” font or the “Wingdings 2” font. Moreover, use the following shortcuts after having selected Webdings or Wingdings 2 as your font of choice.
