How to Transfer Domain from One GoDaddy Account to Another GoDaddy Account (Latest)

When you sell domain bought from GoDaddy, you can simply transfer the domain to another GoDaddy account.

All you need to do is ask the buyer to create account on GoDaddy, and you can simply transfer the domain to that buyer.

Transfer Domain from One GoDaddy Account to Another GoDaddy

To transfer domain to the buyer, you will need the following the details from the buyer.

1. Registered email address on GoDaddy
2. GoDaddy Account number

Once you have it then follow the steps below:

  • Log in to your GoDaddy account.
  • Go to "Domain Management".
  • Select the domain you want to transfer.

Now you are taken into domain settings and here you need to scroll down, find and click on Transfer domain to another GoDaddy account.

It will show a pop-up where you need to enter the other GoDaddy account holder’s registered email address and login ID.

Make sure to click on Keep the current nameservers for these domains otherwise GoDaddy will change the DNS to point to GoDaddy servers. If your site is hosted on 3rd part server with that domain, the site will start showing an error.

Enter the details and click on "Next".

If you are not using the domain anymore, I suggest you select the second option which is "Use details from specified customer account". This will update the domain registration information using the new domain holder’s details.

On the next page, you will have to approve the TOS and click "Next".
This will save and update the changes. Now, if you go to your domain manager page, it will show the domain status as "Changing accounts".

Now, check your email from GoDaddy and confirm the domain transfer.

Similarly, the buyer will also receive an email and they to confirm receiving the domain name by clicking the link on email.

In sometimes, your domain will be transferred to the buyer account.

When process will be completed, you will get an email confirmation from GoDaddy.
